Campus Beats - Review

Campus Beats is a new series available on Amazon Mini Tv starring Shantanu Maheshwari (Ishaan), Shruti Sinha (Netra), Rohan Pal, Dhanshree Yadav, Tanya Bhushan (Su), Teriya Magar, Tanvi Gadkari (Ri), Sahaj Singh Chahal and more. The series has been directed by Aniruddha Rajderkar.

The story if a University called MAD which is popular for promoting dance. It showcases a group of rich riends who are brilliant dancers and have a crew within the University and is popularly known as Ruthless. Ishaan and Ri are the leaders of the crew and also best friends. The uni has a program called the welfare which takes in admission of student who aren't that privileged. This saddens the Ruthless as they feel the welfare people are not worthy of the platform provided by MAD and that because of them they have been losing on international competitions. All this end up to creating a mess and forming two groups within the campus one of the privileged, Ruthless and the other of the welfares. Now, the lead female, Netra is from the welfare but she is in MAD not just for dancing but she even has some hidden agendas. She fakes her identity to get into the campus. Later, Ishaan deeply falls for Netra and they have some lovely moments throughout the season. Netra challenges the Ruthless that she would make a better crew and to this Ri declares that if it happens she would quit MAD. Interesting isn't it?

I really enjoyed the show and it was good for binge watching. Each character has its own story going on and there was a lot happening. I thing which I felt was missing in the show was more of dance. As we know it is a show of dancers and all the actors like Shantanu, Shruti, Tanvi are fabulous dancers so they could have added more of it in the show. No doubt the storyline, suspense, emotions, drama everything was on point. I would rate it a 3.5/5.
