Asha left her family and lived with her 31 year old husband. The marriage broke the sisters who shared a great bond. Ganpatrao and Ashaji have three children but the Bhosle family was breaking as Asha was a busy mother and Ganpatrao was not okay with Lataji's popularity as that was decreasing the offers for Ashaji.

In 1950s Ganpatrao troubled Asha Bhosle for money and didn't allow her to meet her sister. This brought violence and abuses for Asha from her husband. In 1960, Ganpatrao showed Asha and their three children the exit door. He didn't give Asha anything. This was a turning point as Asha now had three children to take care of, alone. R.D. Burman proposed to Asha but Asha wasn't over the memories from her past and couldn't accept the proposal. This didn't disheartened the man and he counvienced Ashaji to marry him. They got married in 1980s. They were madly in love and ruled the music industry. Asha and Burman later got seperated because of his alcoholism. Thye still used to meet and spend quality time with each other. It was this time when R.D Burman got a heart attack. Burman died on 4th January 1994. That day Asha broke as he was the man of her dreams.
