Sharmin Segal Shared Her Experience Of Working With Such Senior Actresses!!!

Sharmin Segal, one of the newest members of the Heeramandi cast, previously talked about feeling pressured to work with such senior actresses, saying, "There's a lot of pressure" when asked about working alongside Manisha Koirala, among others.

One of the newest members of the Heeramandi cast, Sharmin Segal, has talked about how stressful it can be to work with such experienced actresses. She acknowledged the desire to establish her own worth.

The arrival of Heeramandi on Netflix has sparked a lot of conversation online. Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal play the key roles in this eight-episode series directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Though most people are enjoying everyone else's performance, Sharmin is the target of trolls since she doesn't fit in with the opulence.

Sharmin Segal, who is comparatively the newest of all the women starring in the series, mentioned felt under pressure. However, Heeramandi was the target of such vicious trolls shortly after her discharge that Sharmin had to delete her Instagram comment area. Sharmin acknowledged that she is under a lot of strain, and that this pressure sometimes show out in strange ways, during her most recent visit on BBC Asian Network. However, Sharmin believes that her sister, who was also an assistant director at Heeramandi, provided her with a particularly strong support network. "So, it worked out in a way where I do have my outlets where I can vent," the Malaal actress continued. I feel safe enough in my personal life today to leave everything I did at work behind and come home to my hubby.

Although Sharmin acknowledged that she wants to prove herself, her strategy is more grounded in reality. She believes that she has no power or influence over what other people think of her in a nation of 1.4 billion people. "I am a very strong advocate for mental health and leading a happy life," she continued. Thus, I really do wish to pursue my goals. Nevertheless, some people will ultimately have to voice their opinions.

She is not the sole target of Heeramandi's criticism. There are a few more reasons why the Lahori courtesan-centric series has drawn criticism. Heeramandi has regrettably let the audience down on a number of fronts, whether it is through the aestheticization and glorification of courtesans' hardships, historical misrepresentations, or the promotion of non-consensual sex.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who made his digital debut with this film, is getting ready to bring his Love & War—which stars Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor—to the big screen.
