Childhood and Schooling

As was previously said, Amogh Ji comes from a devout household. It was customary, according to one of his interviews, to recite the names of God in his house. As a child, at times when the electricity was out, he and his family would recite the mantra "Hari Om Tatsath" for hours on end. 
His interviews also reveal that the seventh grade piqued his interest in spirituality. A passage from the Bhagwad Gita that he came across in a book chapter while studying for the seventh grade helped him realize that enlightenment was possible on a spiritual level. 

In 2000, following the completion of her 12th grade education, Amogh Lila fled her family. But he returned after four months to do his additional coursework. In 2004, he earned his engineering degree in computer science. He additionally worked for an MNC with a US base as a software engineer. 

According to Amogh Ji's interview, he had been promoted to project manager when he left the position between 2004–2010. And after that, in 2010, at the age of 29, he joined ISKCON and became a lifelong devotee of Hare Krishna Brahmachari. 

In an interview with Citti Media, he himself stated that his father was a RAW officer. Two of his sisters are married as well.
