Background and Early Life.
Born in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India Dilshad Begum Sheikh is also referred to as Dilshad Bibi. She is the youngest of the famous Bollywood actors Sanjay Khan and Feroz Khan's siblings. Dilshad who was born into a well-known Sunni Muslim family, grew up with her sister Khurshid Shahnavar, her brothers Akbar Khan Sameer Khan, Shahrukh Shah Ali Khan, and her adoptive brother Ilyas Khan. She graduated from Sophia College in Bengaluru and is fluent in Urdu, her mother tongue.

Family and Marriage
In 1969, Dilshad married Javed Sheikh, a businessman from an affluent Kashmiri family with a timber empire in Srinagar. Javed was the only son of Sheikh Mohammad Amin. Shahala Ali Sheikh, Sabah Sheikh, and Sheba Sheikh were the couple's three daughters. Javed tragically died in the middle of the 1980s, leaving Dilshad to raise their girls on their own.
