Despite coming from a legal background and into a field that has many other career options available in law, Pallavi chose to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Exam. By 2025, she is to be found serving as the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Marh, Jammu and Kashmir. That is a key position that sees the SDM play out many roles, including that of law and order, revenue administration, public welfare programs, and also that of a go-between for various government departments.
