Kalathilkuzhiyil Devadasan Dilin Nair, well known by his stage name Raftaar, is an Indian rapper, lyricist, dancer, actor, TV personality, and music composer associated with Hindi and Punjabi music.

He kicked his career off as a dancer. He started his career in the rap world in 2008 with Lil Golu and Young Amli (now Ikka), recording songs and uploading them on social sites. Later, he teamed up with Yo Yo Honey Singh in the group Mafia Mundeer. The artist was unable to come to terms with credit-extraction issues and thus left the group. He later co-founded a group 'The Titans' comprising Badshah and Sachit Takkar aka Sachh. The trio was later into producing quite a good number of songs both in Punjabi Music Industry and Bollywood. He was later backed by Ankit Khanna and signed onto Three Records, a label under the Punjabi music band RDB. After the split between the RDB members, Raftaar went on to join Manjeet Ral now recognized as Manj Musik. He began his solo career with Zee Music Company in the year 2016.

Raftaar got famous after the release of his song in 2013 "Swag Mera Desi" with Manj Musik. He used a lot of gaali in one line: "Ab yeh karke dikhao" from this song as a diss to Yo Yo Honey Singh. The line "Ab yeh karke dikhao" was already used in Yo Yo Honey Singh's song "Party With The Bhoothnath", due to which a dispute between the two rappers in the media had started. "Swag Mera Desi" won Best Urban Song at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards 2014.

In 2017, he gave his debut in the Bengali music industry with the film One, whose music was scored by singer Vishal Dadlani, and Raftaar contributed his vocals to the track. He produced and rapped for a track on the Chaamp soundtrack. For the second edition of Breezer Vivid Shuffle, Raftaar joined Varun Dhawan in a live jam for the finale piece.

Interesting Facts 

• Raftaar gained popularity for the song Swag Mera Desi in 2013. In the song, there is a line ‘Ab yeh karke dikhao’ which was a diss to Honey Singh. This led to problems between both of them.
• In 2017, Raftaar debuted in the Bengali music industry. He sang the title track for the Bengali film ‘One’ with singer Vishal Dadlani. He also produced and rapped the song ‘Dekho Dekho Chaamp‘ for the Bengali film Chaamp (2017).
• He is also the co-founder of the music label Kalamkaar.
• In 2018, he collaborated with Varun Dhawan for the second edition of Breezer Vivid Shuffle.
