However, the makers refused to invest in the sequel as it turned out to be an expensive proposition despite being a box-office hit. Turns out the structure was such that the 1st film in the franchise would make less profits, but the 2nd & 3rd movies in the franchise would make bumper profits. The producers were in no mood to risk investing in the franchise. The movie was stuck due to a lack of funds, but another top studio has finally decided to greenlight the movie. The movie's young filmmaker & lead hero worked very hard for it to happen. The hero, the current box office king, was even open to taking a fee cut for the movie.
