Bollywood Blind Item: Sports Biopic Revived as Director Hunts for Leading Lady Again
A long-delayed biopic on a renowned Indian sportswoman is back in play as the producer-director resumes searching for a committed, transform-ready leading actress.
This producer-director announced a sports biopic based on an Indian female athlete while the film was in the writing stage back then. He had even acquired the life rights of the athlete. However, a similar film was made where an A-list actress played the real-life character but it wasn't an official remake.
The official biopic was put on the back burner soon after the film was finished writing as this director-producer approached a couple of A-list actresses to play the athlete but he wanted a commitment of a year from them and a severe body transformation for the role hence the female actors didn't take up the project.
The director-producer is keen to start the delayed project sometime this year. He has restarted his hunt for the protagonist.
