Bollywood Blind Item: Superstar's Collab With South Filmmaker Called Off

Fans of this superstar who will soon become a senior citizen were thrilled to hear about him collaborating with a top South Indian filmmaker. The filmmaker's debut Bollywood film went on to become the biggest hit of the year & starred another superstar. Fans loved the mass appeal of the movie. The superstar's fans were hoping that the filmmaker would be able to repeat the on-screen magic with him as well. But sadly their collab ain't happening anytime soon. As per a source, the filmmaker wanted the two biggest stars of the Tamil film industry to star in the movie alongside the superstar. Both the Tamil stars are 70+ years old but are still very much active. But while both the Tamil superstars are good friends, they don't want to share screen space & prefer not to play parallel leads. The filmmaker insists on the two Tamil superstars to star in the movie & is not willing to work on it unless they agree to star in the project. But with them refusing the project, he is working on a fresh project starring a Telugu hero who is probably the biggest box office draw in the country right now.

Apart from the Tamil superstar's reluctance, financing the project too would have probably been an issue. Nobody would like to bankroll a project with several big names & their fat pay cheques. While the movie would have received a thunderous response at the box office, recovering the budget would have been a challenge. It remains to be seen which project the Bollywood superstar decides to take up next after his upcoming Eid release. His box office track record off late has been rather patchy. He badly needs a hit & so does Bollywood.
