The Bollywood movie industry is popularly known to recreate films from the South. But this is not always the case; even South Indian filmmakers have remade Bollywood movies in the past. The South added its touch and nuances but the script was borrowed from Bollywood. So basically, it’s a give and take policy.

1. 3 Idiots Tamil remake Nanban

For decades 3 Idiots was regarded as the benchmark of a good Bollywood movie, and no doubt it is. But this is not all true, there are some problematic aspects regarding this movie. But, despite all this it turns out to be a pretty hilarious movie with actors who did justice to their roles, its remake was quite obvious.

2. Jolly LLB Tamil remake Manithan

Jolly LLB was among the most heart-warming films for its obvious reasons. The movie has everything a brilliant acting, amazing plot and a great story. Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani acting was just deserved a hell lot of appreciation. The Tamil remake, though not as funny as Jolly LLB, is still brilliantly made.

3. Delhi Belly Tamil remake Settai

Delhi Belly was a nice movie which everyone quite enjoyed throughout. This movie comprises of strong story and plot, and taking into consideration that it was a small budget film, it did pretty well, particularly when you look into the fact that there were no grade-A established actors cast in the film.

4. Pyaar ka Punchnama Telugu remake Green Signal

Although Pyaar Ka Punchnama is one problematic and misogynist movie we cannot altogether deny the fact that people loved this movie and in fact some even related to it. The Telugu remake was not quite able to portray the movie as it was and failed.

Although Kahani was not able to set the bar too high in the box office, it earned a massive success on OTT and television which proves how brilliant the story plot was and how powerful Vidya Balan’s performance was. The Telugu remake of the movie is set in Hyderabad, and blends in the cultural nuances that the city of Nizams had to offer.

There is no debate that Pink remains is among the top Bollywood movies that have been made in the last decade. It has strong acting and also presented a brutal reality. The plot of the movie was just beyond words. The Tamil remake presented Ajith in place of Amitabh Bachchan. But, to be honest we all saw this remake coming.

9. Dabangg Telugu remake Gabbar Singh

Dabangg is one movie which played a huge role in shaping Sonakshi Sinha’s career and was pretty good. But, If Salman can remake South Indian movies, even South filmmakers can revert the same. The remake cast Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Haasan as the lead actors.

10. Jab We Met Tamil remake Kanden Kadhalai

You will hardly come across a person who hasn’t watched Jab We Met. The movie was pretty good, had a roller coaster of emotions and fun. The remake of this movie cast Bharath and Tamannaah. The remake had the same magical impact as the audience of the original movie had.
