Bollywood's top debuts in 2022: Know who impressed and who disappointed

Every year Bollywood continues to bring in new talents. The year 2022 also saw so many new stars beginning their journey in B-town. So, let's take a trip down the memory lane and revisit Bollywood's newbies who left the audience impressed with their acting skills.

Vijay Deverakonda

One of the most anticipated Bollywood debuts of 2022 was of South hunk Vijay Deverakonda in Puri Jagannadh's pan-India film 'Liger.' The movie didn't create a storm at the box office, but Vijay managed to create a lot of waves. Aside from that, he grabbed a lot of attention for his appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 7 and for the 'Cheese' tag he received on the talk show.

Rashmika Mandanna

National crush Rashmika Mandanna, who came to fame after playing 'Srivalli' character in Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa: The Rise', has her big Bollywood debut this year in 'Goodbye' starring Amitabh Bachchan and Neena Gupta. The movie received mixed reviews, but Rashoo was well received. She had bagged two other projects, even before the release of her first Hindi fim. She next has 'Mission Majnu' opposite Siddharth Malhotra and 'Animal' co- starring Ranbir Kapoor.

Babil Khan

Late Irrfan Khan's son and debutante followed in his father's footsteps into the world of cinema with 'Qala,' which was released on Netflix. Babil exceeded expectations by living up to his father's name. Babil earned accolades for his performance as Jagan, the new singer in 'Qala'. According to reports, Babil will next be seen in Soojit Sircar's The Umesh Chronicles.

Manushi Chillar

Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar made her big Bollywood debut alongside Akshay Kumar in 'Samrat Prithviraj'. She played the character of Princess Sanyogita. Even though the historical drama failed at the box office, the beauty queen impressed with her screen presence. Manushi is working on two projects, Tehran and The Great Indian Family.

Shantanu Maheshwari

Shantanu Maheshwari is not a stranger to glitz and glamour- the actor is a famous face in the Indian TV industry. He rose to fame with his role Swayam Shekhawat in Channel V's youth drama Dil Dance Dosti. Shantanu had made his dream Bollywood debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' opposite Alia Bhatt which is a dream for many Bollywood aspirants. His performance was outstanding and received a lot of appreciation.

Khushalii Kumar

Gulshan Kumar's youngest daughter made her film debut this year with 'Dhokha: Round D Corner' opposite seasoned actor R Madhavan.She was praised for her portrayal as Saachi in the thriller. Her character had many layers, which she brilliantly portrayed. She will be seen in the upcoming films Dedh Bigha Zameen and Ghudchadi.
