2022 was not a fantastic year for Bollywood, but there were films that we felt would revolutionise the box office landscape and bring viewers to the theatres. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

Today, we’ll look at a list of films that were projected to do well at the box office but ended up being flops…

Bachchhan Paandey

Bachchhan Paandey, starring Akshay Kumar, was a holiday weekend release and the actor’s follow-up to the success Sooryavanshi (Diwali 2021). As a result, it was thought that Bachchhan Paandey would perform well as well, but the picture garnered unfavourable reviews and word of mouth, and it failed to make an impression at the box office.

Shamshera

Ranbir Kapoor returned to the big screen after a four-year absence. Shamshera’s trailer and songs drew a lot of attention. It was the type of high-budget film that the public would want to see on the big screen. However, after a promising start, the picture faltered due to bad reviews and word of mouth.

Laal Singh Chaddha

The #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha campaign was expected to have an impact on Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. However, the film was rejected by moviegoers from the start, which surprised everyone.

Liger

Arjun Reddy celebrity With Liger, Vijay Deverakonda made his Bollywood debut. Liger’s trailer and songs had captured everyone’s interest, and the producers left no stone untouched in promoting it. However, due to the film’s poor quality, it failed to perform well at the box office.

Brahmstra Part One – Shiva

Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, is the highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year. Even with a collection of Rs. 257.44 crores, it is not a success. According to reports, the film was made on a budget of Rs. 500 crores, therefore the box office will undoubtedly be low.

Bhediya

The horror-comedy universe component, interesting trailer, good songs, great promos, Varun Dhawan’s fantastic performance, and decent reviews all worked in Bhediya’s favour. However, the picture did not perform well at the box office.

Cirkus

Cirkus was one of the year’s biggest surprises. The combination of Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh also failed to get spectators to the theatres. At the box office, the film has proven to be a flop.
