Ayushmann Khurana who is currently busy in the promotion of his upcoming movie "An Action Hero" made an unexpected statement in between this. He finally breaks his silence on the failure of the "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui"  movie. This movie failed at the box office despite having decent reviews.

He stated during the discussion, "I commenced by watching films about taboo principles. Because our nation is, unfortunately, homophobic, I suppose the types of issues — it needs to be a community viewing, and it has to have a wider film, including an LGBTO film (Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui) — actually don't do well commercially. Then there was Anek, a docudrama that was extremely specialized in terms of its tone. Doctor G was an A-rated movie and evaluating the sequence it received, it did OK in theatres. That was how I originally realized how to make movies."

When asked if he was surprised that his movies didn't perform well, the star responded, "I believe I am unmovable. I shall become traditional if I stop taking chances. I've forever made odd decisions because of who I am. I'll keep on taking them whether I achieve or flunk in the future. The beauty of the film's budgeting is that I simply keep pushing the envelope. Since most of my movies have low to medium budgets, no one loses money, and I can afford to take chances."

Abishek Kapoor is the director of Ayushmann Khurana's "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" movie. Ayushmann shared the screen with Vaani Kapoor in this movie who played the role of a trans woman in the film. The film earned ₹3.75 crore on its opening day in India but later it has fallen due to the rise of Covid cases. It was wrapped on a total of ₹33.64 gross as per reports.

After "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" his next two films, Anek and Doctor G also flopped at the Box office and earned as low as ₹9.7 crores and ₹ 31.49 crores gross at the domestic ticket window.

On the Workfront, he will be seen next in the "An Action Hero" film. This film is directed by Anirudh Iyer. Malaika Arora and Akshay Kumar also had special appearances in the film. Jaideep Ahlawat will also feature in a key role. The film will hit the cinemas on 2nd December 2022.
