Needless to say, the New Year's Eve frenzy is completely out of this world. While many people are looking forward to welcoming 2023 with open arms, a legion of moviegoers and millions of SRKians are simply eager to see the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, hook everyone again with his highly anticipated film Pathaan. Pathaan, which is set to hit theatres on January 25, has generated a lot of buzz and controversies since the release of its first song. Pathaan has joined the list of Bollywood films facing boycott calls on social media, following a number of other films. However, amid all of the excitement, moviegoers may have overlooked one very important aspect: National Award-winning filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi's much-anticipated return with Gandhi-Godse Ek Yudh, which will clash with SRK's Pathaan.

Pathaan was supposed to be released on its own around Republic Day next year. But that is no longer the case, as Rajkumar Santoshi's Gandhi-Godse Ek Yudh will be released on January 26, just a day after Pathaan, resulting in an impending clash. While Siddharth Anand's directorial set 25 January as its release date months ago, Gandhi-Godse Ek Yudh's makers announced its release in an unusual manner on 15 December. The filmmakers have released a video montage featuring clips from Rajkumar Santoshi's films, including The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani, Ghatak, and Damini.

Tanisha Santoshi, Rajkumar Santoshi's daughter, will make her Bollywood debut with this historical drama, according to IMDb. While Tanisha hasn't confirmed the reports, she did post a montage video on her official Instagram account, which no doubt added fuel to the fire.

Tanisha wrote a touching note for her father while announcing the film. "The ability of one man to be versatile enough to ace so many different genres still baffles me," the caption read. A legendary filmmaker, a constantly evolving artist, and a person with a golden heart. This one will be the most memorable for a variety of reasons. The most exciting part is yet to come. Papa, I adore you."

Returning to Pathaan, Yash Raj Films' action thriller will reunite SRK with Deepika Padukone. Furthermore, for the first time, SRK will share screen time with John Abraham. The film will mark the superstar's return to the big screen following the release of Zero in 2018.
