Blind Item(Rajeev Masand) – Marketing Reservations – 19th Jan

Rajeev Masand has published a blind item in Open The Magazine about the marketing team’s reservations regarding the box office pull of two youg stars.

The actor mentioned in the blind item is more in the news for his romance with an older woman. While they were meeting on the sly post her divorce(even before it), they have now made the relationship public. Rumor has it that they may get married sometime this year(click here to read more). But if one publication is to be believed, the actor’s cousin – an established actress herself, is not fond of his GF. The GF was apparently drunk at a party & when the cousin tried to help her, she was shooed away by the GF! The cousin was told rudely that her help is not required & that she is capable of taking care of herself. Not only did she embarrass herself by not being able to hold her drink, she was rude to her BF’s family. We don’t think highly of the actor in question. while her always bitched about his famous step mother for stealing his father from his mom, he had no qualms in stealing his GF from her then husband – the brother of the country’s reigning superstar.

There were rumors that the actress mentioned in the bind item, was trying to seduce the actor on the sets of their previous movie together(click here to read more). The actor politely refused her advances as he was madly in love with his GF.

After their last film together got terrible reviews and sank without so much as a trace, no one’s in a hurry to watch this pair on screen again, much less sign them up for another movie. As it turns out though, they did make another movie together (it’s been shot and has been in post-production for some time now), and insiders are saying that despite the reservations of his marketing and distribution teams, the studio boss who bankrolled the project has decided to roll out the film on schedule a few months from now.

His teams have recommended that the release to be put on hold until both actors have had at least one successful film individually, but the producer is sticking to his guns. The producer is convinced the audience doesn’t stay away from a new movie because they didn’t enjoy the actors’ last film. He has told his teams they just have to cut the best trailer and create the most imaginative campaign so viewers will be interested in watching the new film afresh.
