Ending Explained

Mahendra Awasthi was introduced as a new suspect in the murder of Zara Ahuja in the seventh episode of Criminal Justice Season 3. This person is the owner of the property where Zara was supposed to shoot at the start of the season. Of course, the means are simple, and we know that Zara was killed with Nitric acid, and Mahendra is said to have a lung infection caused by acid exposure.

Despite this, Lekha makes every effort to divert Madhav Mishra's attention and win the case. Mishra ji calls Awasthi and his wife to the witness stand one by one, and Mahendra soon admits in the heat of the moment that he did, in fact, murder Zara. The motivation becomes clear at this point: Mahendra's daughter committed suicide after being trolled online by Zara's fans for impersonating Zara's television character Bittu. To add fuel to the fire, Zara publicly called out and trolled Mahendra's daughter on social media, prompting her to commit suicide.

On his path to vengeance, Mahendra intended to murder Zara. When Mukul left a high and drunk Zara on the beach, as he recounted many times, it was Mahendra who attacked her and took him to the disputed property near the beach, where she was brutally murdered. His goal was to destroy Zara's beautiful face and teach her a lesson.

Mahendra is charged with Zara's murder by the end of Criminal Justice Season 3 Episode 8, and Mukul is finally proven innocent. Mukul and Avantika later reunite with Neeraj. Madhav Mishra is paid handsomely for his services, and his wife has finally rented a space for her parlour.
