D Block Movie Explanation

With his previous success in these genres, Arul Nithi always creates expectations whenever he decides to do a thriller or horror film. D Block also falls in the same category, but the big question is whether he will be able to live up to his previous performances.
The film begins with a young girl being tortured and held captive. We meet Arul, who has come to Coimbatore to attend a technical college. Surprisingly, the story takes place in 2006 in a college located in the middle of a deep forest. For this reason, students are advised not to leave the campus after school. However, not following this rule leads to problems. When one of Arul's friends, Swati, a Bharatanatyam dancer, dies, the school authorities cover it up as a wild animal attack. Arul tries to solve the mystery of a series of girls who die and disappear following this pattern.
The plot sounds good, as the makers claim it is based on true events, but the film and characters lack the depth that is crucial for this kind of genre. The problem with D-Block is that while it makes the antagonist invincible in every way, the backstory is unconvincing and doesn't add any value to his advantage. The first half gives little insight into the threat factor, instead focusing on the college life of the students. The film is a must-watch that keeps its secrets until the interlude and then lets everything out in the second half.
Once the tension is released, there are no exciting plot twists or big plot twists to keep the screenplay moving for nearly an hour. The build-up to the climax becomes tiresome, if not ridiculous. Logic cannot be applied to horror and thriller films, but in this case, logic is invalid and defeats the purpose of the film.
Director Arulnithi, as always, has the ability to put together an average film and she does it brilliantly. Each female character in the film has a role to play and a defined character to play, and the limited romantic scenes with Shruti (Avanthika Mishra) do not disrupt the flow of the film. The supporting cast including Thalaivasal Vijay, Ramesh Khanna and Kalu Palaniappan fail to generate the enthusiasm required to make the film a success.
The technical aspects of the film are very mediocre and do not add to the atmosphere of the film. Popular YouTuber Elmi Sahni Vijay Kumar made his screenwriting debut with D Block but he still has a long way to go.
