Hindi Film Director and choreographer Farah Khan said that Hrithik Roshan was very anxious about the idea of sharing the same screen with Shah Rukh Khan. With the caliber of these two stars together in the movie Main Hoon Na the filmmaker said it was very overwhelming for her.
But, after the release of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Hrithik suddenly gained popularity. According to some reports, Shah Rukh and Hrithik initially showed icy treatment towards one another, especially during the shooting of Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. When Farah Khan was asked if it was true that Hrithik and Abhishek Bachchan were both considered for the Laxman part in Main Hoon Na, then she responded, "It was a musical chairs situation to cast that role."
