Do You Know Why Shah Rukh Khan Has Been Provided With Y+ Security Cover?
Shah Rukh Khan, who had two back-to-back blockbusters this year in Jawan and Pathaan, has allegedly been assigned with Y+ security protection in light of potential threats to him. According to a source, security authorities in Maharashtra have upped Shah Rukh Khan's protection cover to Y+ due to 'imminent and likely' threats against the actor. While police sources in Mumbai verified the security detail, according to the article, they declined to reveal the nature of the threat that SRK is facing.
According to reports, on October 5, the Maharashtra State Intelligence Department (SID) directed all police commissionerates, district police, and special protection units (SPUs) in the state to give 'Y+ with an escort scale of security to Shah Rukh Khan with immediate effect'. According to police sources, the decision to award Y+ protection detail was made during a recent high-committee meeting during which threats and security for Shah Rukh Khan were assessed.
SRK will get 11 security personnel, including 6 commandos, 4 police officers, and a traffic clearance vehicle, as part of the security detail. According to a police source, the officers would be stationed at Shah Rukh's Mumbai residence Mannat.
The actor will pay for his own protection, and he will be protected until the next high-level committee recommendation and review committee decision.
Meanwhile, according to a source, Shah Rukh Khan was awarded Y+ security as a result of danger perception following his two blockbusters Jawan and Pathaan this year. According to the news portal, Dilip Sawant, special IGP, VIP security, issued a notification saying, "In light of the recent imminent and probable threats to Shah Rukh Khan, cine actor, all unit commanders are requested to provide him Y+ with escort scale of security on payment basis, with immediate effect until the next high-level committee recommendation and review committee decision, during his visit/engagements and stay in your jurisdiction to avoid any untoward incident."
