Khufiya - Review
Khufiya is an OTT release on Netflix. It stars Tabu, Wamiqa Gaba, Azmeri Haque Badhon, Ali Fazal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Alexx O'Nell, Jan Graveson, Bene't Lynton and more. The film has been directed and produced by the legendary Vishal Bhardwaj.
The story begin with Tabu being a secret operation officer, Krishna Mehra (KM) who was on a mission to take down Mirza a well-known mafia in Bangladesh. On the operation, she met Heena Rehman who was named as Octopus for the operation and KM admired her a lot. The real story begins when Heena dies on the mission and KM is shattered but she doesn't know it well as her identity as a lesbian is not known to many in her life. She also had some personal issues in her life as her son hated her for getting seperated from his father and never making up to his shows because of her job. Later, it was found that there was a mole in the team because of whom Heena was killed and the mole was Ravi Mohan. Then, they started operation Brutus to take him down. Ravi soon released he was being tracked and he escaped with his family but his wife, Charu refused to betray the country and she was shot by her mother-in-law. There is a lot of suspense for what is going to happen next in the story. After a timelap of 6 months, we see Charu looking for KM as she wants her son back from Ravi. KM takes her in the operation and trains her well. Charu soon enters into the family again and gains their trust to escape with her son. There is a lot of drama, action and suspense after this.
Tabu had a powerful role to play and like usual, she was amazing throughout the film. I really enjoyed Wamiqa on the screen, she is beautiful and holded the character well. I must say, she made herself noticed in the story. Talking about the storyline, it seemed a bit slow in some parts and the songs seemed repeatative at times. Overall, it is a nice film to binge watch on a weekend. I would rate it a 3/5.
