Know Why Parineeti Chopra Replaced Wamiqa Gabbi In Shiddat 2

Parineeti Chopra, who is currently basking in the glory of her year and half old wedding with politician Raghav Chaddha has just wrapped a series for Netflix in Shimla. It is directed by Rensil D’silva. The actress grabbed the headlines when she was replaced in much celebrated film Animal opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

The actress projected that she left Animal because she was offered Amar Singh Chamkila by none other than Imtiaz Ali. But apparently the sources reveal that Sandeep Vanga Reddy wasn’t really happy with her shot deliveries and performance and hence he asked her to quit the film. The role went on to Rashmika Mandana.

It was learnt that Parineeti was roped in for Dinesh Vijan’s Shiddat 2, the sequel to the first part that released in 2021. But later, it was revealed that the actress was replaced by the rising star Wamiqa Gabbi. 

It all began when Wamiqa was spotted at a the success party of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. When asked her about her presence, she remained tight lipped. Around a year later, Dinesh announced his next Bhool Chuk Maaf with Wamiqa and Rajkummar Rao that will release in theaters on May 23, 2025.

A close source to the production house reveals, “Shiddat 2 is very much in the making. In fact, the makers are planning to retain Radhika Madan’s character from the first part as Sunny Kaushal’s character dies in the first. The script demanded a fresh pairing hence they approached Parineeti Chopra but the actress denied the offer citing date issues.”

“However, Parineeti wanted to focus on her wedding and didn’t want to burden herself with too much work. The makers then decided to cast Wamiqa. It was learnt that the producers have signed the actress for a three film deal,” the source adds.

Although it is still unclear that what will be the primary cast of Shiddat 2 and by when the film will go on floors.
