The 73-year-old veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty has been hospitalized at Apollo Hospitals' emergency department in Kolkata.

According to reports, Mithun Da reported experiencing excruciating chest discomfort and extreme anxiety on Saturday morning while filming a TV show in his native Kolkata. At around 10:30 a.m. today, studio personnel hurried him to the hospital right away.
The media has been notified by an Apollo Hospital representative that Mithun Chakraborty is receiving medical evaluation. "We're waiting for the MRI results. He is being monitored by a neuromedicine specialist while he is in the intensive care unit. Later on, we will have more information to share," the spokesman continued.
Mithun's first hospital clip
Mithun was seen in the footage sitting on his bed in the hospital room. "Ab theek hai, saline chal raha hai, paani aap adequate peerahe hai," the doctor said to him in Hindi. "Now it's okay, the drip is continuing, you're drinking enough water, so keep drinking," said Bas Peete Rahiye. Then Mithun murmured something while pointing to his feet.
There were several people gathered around Mithun's bed. "West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar met veteran actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty at a private hospital in Kolkata," read the caption accompanying the video. Sourav Ganguly, a former cricket player, was also shown in another clip coming at the hospital to greet Mithun.
Over the course of her nearly five-decade career, Mithun has acted in over 350 multilingual motion pictures. He also dabbled in active politics, joining the BJP at the moment. Recently, the Indian government bestowed upon him the Padma Bhushan, the country's third-highest civilian award. After revealing his Padma news, Mithun remarked, "Bohot takleefo ke baad jab itna bada sammaan milta hai toh uski feeling hi kuch aur hoti hai."
The actor made his feature film debut in Mrigayaa, directed by Mrinal Sen, for which he won the National Film Award for Best Actor. Among his other well-known films are Disco Dancer, Agneepath, Ghar Ek Mandir, Jallad, and Pyaar Jhukta Nahin.
