Pooja Bhatt's Love Life: From Ranvir Shorey Beating Her Up To Divorcing Manish Makhija After 11 Years
Pooja Bhatt is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, a well-known filmmaker, but she worked hard and carved out a name for herself in the industry. At the age of 17, she made her Bollywood debut with Daddy, directed by his aunt. Pooja has been recognised for her work in a number of films. We're going to talk about her love life today.
Pooja has been embroiled in controversies since the beginning. She made a lot of headlines, from lip-locking with her father for a magazine cover to posing nude with paint on her body. Bobby Deol, Fardeen Khan, and Ranvir Shorey have all been linked to the actress. She did, however, exchange wedding vows with Munish Makhija before splitting up with him.
An examination of her personal life
Pooja was one of the most well-known and successful actresses of the 1990s. Daddy, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Zakhm and Sadak. Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan were among the top actors she worked with. Pooja Bhatt Productions is her production company. Pooja has directed films such as Holiday, Kajraare, Dhokha, and Jism 2.
Controversy involving father Mahesh Bhatt
Pooja was born a year after Mahesh married his first wife Lorraine Bright. The first thought that comes to mind when discussing the father-daughter relationship is their contentious lip-lock.
Pooja and Mahesh's suspected lip-lock made a lot of news in the 1990s. They allegedly did so for a magazine cover. In reality, the lead story's headline read,
“If Pooja hadn't been my daughter, I would have married her.”
People wondered if the father and daughter were having an affair after seeing the controversial photo. Despite rumours to the contrary, Pooja and Mahesh kept a respectful silence.
Live-in relationship with Ranvir Shorey
Pooja and Ranvir were in a live-in relationship and loved each other. It was also rumoured that they were dating. Both stars, however, broke up. Ranvir's alleged abusive conduct was said to be the reason for their split. Pooja herself stated in an interview that she was seeing an alcoholic who used to beat her up.
Ranvir, on the other hand, told a completely different storey in an explosive interview with Rediff.com. After their acrimonious split, Ranvir described their relationship as, "Just like every other regular couple. We had our fair share of quarrels. Today, however (pauses and begins to look at the ceiling). I used to hang out with her and drink. She used to complain that I drank too much and didn't look after her well enough. I used to volunteer to leave the scene on such occasions. That used to irritate her, and she'd lash out at him. There will be a brawl. To be clear, I don't get aggressive until I've had a few drinks. She can be abusive even though she isn't drinking. I must have told her at least 30 times that a relationship can't succeed if she acts like this.”
When asked about the night when the nasty quarrel occurred and they agreed to part ways, he said, "Like every day, I was at Pooja's place. There was a scuffle as is customary. I made the decision to end the relationship. Things quickly spiralled out of control. I left after packing my belongings. I realised I had forgotten one of my bags as I slipped behind the wheel of my car. I dialled Pooja's number on her cellphone (groans). She cut off my phone calls. I kept attempting to contact her. I heard the glass break around me as I dialled. As I returned my gaze, I noticed that both of my car's windows had been shattered. When I came out, I saw Rahul, Pooja's brother, standing with an iron rod. I was in a daze. He began blasting me with the rod before I realised what had happened.”
Wedding with Manish Makhija
Pooja eventually found Manish Makhija, also known as Udham Singh, and fell in love with him. He was a Mumbai-based restaurateur and Indian VJ. In 2003, after dating for two months, they exchanged wedding vows. In 2014, the pair divorced after 11 years of marriage.
"I want to live life on MY terms & refuse to perform to the gallery," Pooja wrote on the microblogging site Twitter, explaining why she and her husband, Manish, divorced. "Marriages and partnerships aren't made or broken by certificates! Life is full of surprises! To all who care, and particularly those who don't, my husband Munna and I have decided to divorce after 11 years of blissful marriage. Our breakup, as some might call it, was amicable, and we continue to hold each other in the highest regard, now and forever. Since we are both members of the public domain, I explain. Speculation is now open to our families, well-wishers, and foes.”
