Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has opened up about his traumatic experiences losing a significant amount of weight in order to prepare for his part in the historical drama Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. In addition to starring in the movie, Randeep Hooda co-produced and directed it. But the actor's commitment to his work almost cost him his life as he underwent severe physical changes over a long period of time.

Randeep Hooda discussed how the film's delayed production had impacted his health and wellbeing in an interview. Hooda was initially assigned to lose an incredible 32 kg and keep an underweight body for eighteen months. The project was fraught with difficulties, which put a load on her both physically and mentally.

Randeep Hooda highlighted the seriousness of his ailment this time by drawing comparisons between his suffering and his prior weight loss journey for the movie Sarbjit. After the project's original producers shelved it, he was left in a vulnerable medical condition and even suffered from episodes of syncope and mishaps like falling off a horse while filming. Following a time of "revenge eating" to make up for protracted food deprivation, Randeep Hooda underwent regulated rehabilitation with the help of a physiotherapist.

But when the movie project got back on the radar, the actor had to lose weight quickly again, following a fast-like diet to reach a daily goal of one kilogramme. Randeep Hooda stayed dedicated to his role despite the difficulties and health dangers associated with it, feeling that "looking the part" is a crucial component of acting. He did, however, apologize for the project's disorganization, which made the rigorous weight loss programme necessary to repeat.
