Heeramandi, a Netflix original series from Sanjay Leena Bhansali, has been one of the most talked-about subjects ever since it was first revealed. The producers recently released the teaser as fans waited impatiently for the first look at the much-anticipated series. The director is now talking openly about the difficulties he encountered while producing a historical drama.

Bhansali is well known for his unique brand of epic storytelling, complex and passionate characters, and rippling dynamics of a world seized by turmoil during a pivotal period for India. But he routinely draws criticism for supposedly stretching the truth and altering history.

According to ETimes, SLB stated, "You have to be a little cautious when working on a historical event in a country. You must have accurate facts, and that is the extent of my investigation. As most of it is based on imagination, most of it represents how I perceive the era. I do visit to view the architecture, but as soon as I do, I begin to daydream about my additional pillars, roofs, and carpets. So, certainly, research has been done, albeit not in great detail.

Research is incredibly uninteresting to me. As a filmmaker, my goal is to create something specific rather than a documentary. Sanjay Leela Bhansali continued, "I want my impressions—childlike impressions, adult impressions, and impressions of couples who have split up.

In addition to excellent storytelling, SLB's movies have beautiful music. Whether it was Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, or Devdas, the music was so expertly incorporated into the movies that it frequently ends up on everyone's playlist for years, especially among the younger audience.His final film, Gangubai Kathiawadi, which starred Alia Bhatt in the lead part and Ajay Devgn in a supporting one, was a smash hit in 2022.
