'The Fable' Is All Set To Have Its World Premiere During The 74th Edition In The Encounters Competition !!

In addition to Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose, Tillotama Shome, and Hiral Sidhu in significant parts, Raam Reddy is the film's director.

The Fable by Manoj Bajpayee is the only Indian film entered in the Encounters section of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, which runs from February 15–24.

The ensemble cast of The Fable, a collaborative US-Indian production, includes Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose, Tillotama Shome, Hiral Sidhu, and child performer Awan Pookot.

This project is directed by Raam Reddy, who won praise from critics for his first feature film Thithi. It will make its premiere in the Encounters Competition alongside 14 other foreign films.

The Shepherdess and The Seven Songs, directed by Pushpendra Singh, was the final Indian film to compete in the Encounters Competition section in 2020. In 1994, Buddhadeb Dasgupta's Shelter of the Wings was the last Indian film to appear in the Main Competition category.

The 74th Berlin International Film Festival will feature a number of Indian films in addition to The Fable. The Forum part will include titles like O Seeker, In the Belly of a Tiger, The Adamant Girl, Remote Occlusions, and Two Refusals.

In 2020, Pushpendra Singh's "The Shepherdess and the Seven Songs" was the final Indian film to compete in the Encounters competition. Since 1994, when Buddhadeb Dasgupta directed "Shelter of the Wings," there hasn't been an Indian film in the Main Competition.

"Being a part of the cast of 'The Fable' has been an amazing experience," Manoj Bajpayee revealed. It has been immensely motivating to work with a creative mind like Raam Reddy and to take part in an A-festival supported by an international production business for the first time. The Berlinale screening of our film is a testament to the artistic excellence and global appeal of Indian storytelling.

Director and writer Raam Reddy stated, "The Fable is not just a film, but an unadulterated piece of my soul." Being able to work with Manoj ji's genius and such a fantastic cast, having the film premiere in a competitive Berlinale area, and having international support for the film are just a few of the many reasons I feel privileged. Above all, though, is the chance to tell this narrative just the way I had imagined it.

The festival will also feature short films, including Sour Candy and The Girl Who Lived in the Loo.
