Prashanth Neel's Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire transports you back to the well-known scene of a mythological town that views itself as a sovereign state with its own set of laws and customs.

Three powerful tribes had controlled Khansaar since 1127: Mannar, Shouryaanga, and Ghaniyaar. After a number of years, it was necessary to institute legal order in order to prevent Khansaar from impeding its own development. However, a dispute emerged when Raj, Shiv Mannar's son, sought to succeed him as Karta even though he was aware that Dhaara, the Shouryaanga chief, was the legitimate heir. Raj killed Shouryaanga, but his actions didn't end there.

When there was a deadlock in the votes cast by the council of ministers over the announcement of a ceasefire, Vardha was asked to cast his vote in order to break the tie. Since Vardha's life was on the line, everyone expected him to vote in favour of the ceasefire. However, when Vardha unexpectedly voted to lift the ceasefire, they thought he had signed his own death sentence.

An unexpected turn of events occurred when Vardha said that he was not finished and that he now desired to succeed his own father as the Karta of Khansaar. When he said those words, there was greed in his eyes, and although if Deva was currently by his side, it was unclear how long their friendship would survive.

It was disclosed at Salaar's conclusion that Deva was Dhaara's son and the legitimate heir to the throne. We are now unsure of whether he was aware of such fact or not. He would undoubtedly be extremely surprised if he was unaware of it beforehand. There was an army of Shouryaangas led by Bhaarava who wanted to burn down the empire, and there were others like Rudra who wanted to take advantage of the situation. Deva had sworn to protect Vardha and help him sit on the chair of the Karta one day.
