What We Know About Panchayat 2

Panchayat Season 2 is confirmed by the lead actor of the series. The official confirmation of Panchayat Season 2 is Pending. It will soon confirm.Meanwhile, the lead actor Jeetendra Kumar also confirmed that the team is gearing up for the second season. “Actually, the lockdown started soon after we finished the first season, and things came to a halt. Writing and story lineup for the second season is already underway. Official planning will be done after the lockdown is lifted. But yes, it’s on,” Jitendra Kumar  said.

Lead actress Neena Gupta who plays the role of Manju Devi, a village sarpanch, has also confirmed season 2. On the show’s first anniversary, Neena Gupta shared a video on Instagram in which she celebrated a year of Panchayat’s release by cutting a cake. In the video, she is heard saying, “Happy one year to Panchayat, happy one year to us. Congratulations.” She shared the video with a caption that read, “Getting ready for the next season #panchayatwebseries”

The series Panchayat follows a story of a city boy. He completes his graduation and searching for a job. Finally, he gets a job in a village named Phulera. He gets a low-salary job.
The series Panchayat includes the life experiences of that boy. Panchayat is a comedy-drama tv series. The Viral Fever created it, and it is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
Panchayat Season 1 released on April 3, 2020. All eight episodes were dropped on the same day.
Now as far as the next season goes, here’s what we know. The story of the first season ends in such a way that a second season looks very possible. Plus, the show has managed to garner impressive ratings too.  Up until now, TVF or Amazon Prime hasn’t made any official announcements regarding a possible second installment. But the success of the first season will surely hint the fact that we may not have to wait much for the second season to come. Viewers are eagerly waiting for its second innings. Jitender Kumar acting was fascinating in season 1 and was worth praising. Neena Gupta took it to another level. The story of a village and tantrums created by villagers, irritation of Jitender Kumar was amazing to watch.

The first season of ‘Panchayat’ follows Abhishek, a recent college graduate who moves to a village and becomes the secretary of the Panchayat (a Panchayat is a form of local government observed in Indian villages). For better employment opportunities, he prepares for the CAT examination (an entrance exam for the Indian Institute of Management).
It can be expected that  Abhishek is staying in the village, and one can expect him to start warming up to the rural lifestyle even more. Moreover, he finally meets Rinki. So, there is definitely going to be some romance in the second season. Moreover, Manju Devi promises the District Magistrate to learn how to do the Sarpanch’s (head of the Panchayat) job herself instead of letting her husband be the de facto Sarpanch. Hence, one can expect her to learn the ropes.

Season 2 might cover Abhishek  staying in the village, and one can expect him to get used to a rural lifestyle and get more involved in village development activities. We can expect a romantic angle between Abhishek and Rinki. So, there is pretty much in the tank for a good season 2.
Panchayat is a must-watch web series. It is simple, rustic, realistic, and yet heartwarming. In the time when there is a plethora of thriller and adult web series, Panchayat is a good watch for a change. The eight-episode series is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
