We had seen the Pongal battle between Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar, and the Thalapathy Vijay starrer won the battle. Now, coming to the Sankranthi battle between Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja’s Waltair Veerayya, and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy, how far is Chiranjeevi‘s movie impressing the audience more. A successful first week is done; let’s see their box office collection.

For the record, last Thursday Veera Simha Reddy got released, so esoterically the film had 8 days in the opening week. The first day's collection of 34 crores nett had an amazing start, but the arrival of the Maharaja at the Telegu cinemas made it difficult to regain its drive. However, Veera Simha Reddy is having quite a good run. According to the latest box office revision, Waltair Veerayya has ended its first week by gaining a magnificent collection of 119 crores nett in India (Telugu and Hindi included), which equals 140.42 crores gross. In abroad, it has earned 23 crores gross so far, taking the worldwide total to 163.42 crores gross. The film is now aiming to enter the 200-Cr club.
