Kodaikanal is located in the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu. It is a beautiful hill station and is known as the 'Princess of Hill Station'. The place is a well preferred honeymoon place in India. There is less crowd and more experiences here. It has a pleasant weather with beautiful valleys and waterfalls. Today, we will be talking about some if its stunning lakes. 

1. Kadaikanal Lake 

It is a star-shapped artificial take of the town. The lake was created by Sir Vere Henry Levinge and the then Collector of Madurai in 1863. It is situated at an elevation of 2285 m and covers around 60 acres. The flow of this lakes makes the mesmerising waterfall called the Silver Cascade. You can enjoy peaceful boating by hiring rowboats or pedal boats. There are various shops around the lake and children can even enjoy cycling around it. 

2. Berijam Lake 

It is a quaint reservoir located near Kodaikanal. This lake was made by the construction of a dam and is a part of a micro-watershed development project. The water is so clear that it is the main source of potable water for Periyakulam which is a popular hill station from South India. It is the best spot for sceneric views and nature. The lake is also home to many animals and plants. 

3. Mannavanur Lake 

This lake is situated in a village with the same name. It has a large variety of flauna and is perfect for anyone who wants to stay close to nature and have the experience of farms, rabbits, sheeps and more. The roads on both the sides of the lake are covered with eucalyptus and pine trees. One can also go for coracle ride and horse ride offered by the Forest Department at a nominal fee. Apart, one can also visit the nearby places like Mahalakshmi Temple and the Kuzhanthai Velappar Temple.
