Biotique Bio Kelp Shampoo Review

5000 years ago the ancient sages of India roamed the dense forests of our land and created from a plethora of natural resources what we today call as Ayurveda. Upon disintegrating the word, it can be deduced that ‘Ayur’ means life and ‘Veda’ means science or knowledge. It is precisely based on this science of life that the Biotique brand has established its foundation in India which deals with eliminating the problems related to the body of an individual with the help of natural resources only.

One such product which Biotique endorses is its aqua blue Bio Kelp shampoo. It is made up of the concoction of natural ingredients such as proteins, peppermint oil, mint leaf extract, Ritha fruit, sajjikshar, bringhraj plant, and pure kelp, which is a large cold-water seaweed. These natural ingredients blend to promote hair growth and eliminate the inflammation of the hair follicles. The mint leaf extract provides the shampoo with a strong mint fragrance, however, the consistency of the liquid is comparatively quite less which ultimately prevents lather formation. The bringhraj plant rejuvenates the hair and improves hair quality by removing dandruff and promoting hair growth.

The brand claims the shampoo to be effective on all types of hair, however, upon observations, the shampoo is believed to work effectively only on oiled hair. The natural ingredients have been assumed to make the scalp feel dry and cause frizz in just one wash. Moreover, in some cases, upon its preliminary application, the shampoo has given antithetical results than it claimed, such as inducing more hair fall, causing irreparable dryness in the scalp, and making the hair completely lacklustre. On the contrary, in other cases, these ingredients have not all gone to waste. Upon using the conditioner, the shampoo has provided shine and even added volume to the hair.
In addition to this, it has also been noticed that the shampoo is successful in cleansing and removing all the impurities of the scalp. One of the eye-catching benefits of using the shampoo is that it is paraben-free. Paraben is a preservative that is used to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungus in a shampoo, thereby increasing its shelf-life. Such preservatives can cause allergic reactions and even cause serious hair problems to certain hair types. Therefore, before using this or any shampoo, it is highly recommended to consult your dermatologist and analyze the pros and cons of the Biotique Bio Kelp shampoo.

Is it worth a shot?

As Biotique is an Indian brand, it comes at a fairly cheap price. One bottle of the Bio kelp shampoo is sized approximately 190ml which comes at 119 INR, whereas a 340ml bottle is priced at 224 INR. No matter how much affordable the figures look, it is appropriate to consult an expert or test the brand before directly buying, so as not to suffer serious hair problems just because it comes cheap!
