When it comes to politics, everyone has their individual opinion. Whom to support and whom to vote. More than often people like to voice out their opinion in support of their preferred political parties. When the common man of the country speak for or against political parties and political reforms undertaken, why should Bollywood be behind.

With the heated up election season coming to an end  with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s landslide victory, Bollywood celebs have come out openly in support of the ruling government. As the swearing in ceremony of the Prime Minister and his Cabinet Ministers took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan yesterday, the event saw a huge turnout of supporters, approximately 8000 of them. In attendance were fairly popular faces from the Bollywood film industry as well.

Starting with Sunny Deol, a first time BJP candidate from Gurdaspur who won by a whopping margin of 77,000 votes to celebrities like Kangana Ranaut and Karan Johar were spotted at the entry-by-invitation-only event. Sunny Deol’s stepmother and golden era actress Hema Malini, also a BJP candidate who won was also seen. Veteran singer Asha Bhonsle was also present to witness the swearing-in ceremony. Kangana was spotted flaunting a gorgeous translucent white sari with a golden border.

Karan Johar had already met the Prime Minister once this year along with a handful of Boly GenX stars. He too got his official invitation letter from the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He sported a black  achkan for the event. He had been a Modi supporter for a long time.

Anupam Kher, whose wife actress Kirron Kher  contested the election as a BJP candidate from Chandigarh was also in attendance. Kirron Kher too scored a win at the votes count. The Khers have been Modi devotees from a long time. “Thank you Hon. President of India for inviting me to #TheSwearingInCeremony of The Prime Minister Of India and Union Council Of Ministers. I feel honoured and humbled. Jai Hind,”posted Anupam on his Instagram handle.

Evergreen actor Anil Kapoor graced the event. Anil Kapoor took toInstagram to pay his gratitude for inviting him for the ceremony.”Honoured to be attending one of the most important ceremonies of the year. Thank you Hon. President @ram_nath_kovind for the invitation”, said the 1947 A Love Story actor.

Funnyman Kapil Sharma was present. Also in attendance were Bollywood directors Anand L.Rai, Rajkumar Hirani, Rakeysh Omprakash Meha and Imtiaz Ali. When Kartik Aryaan who was also one of the guests, posted a selfie on Twitter with Imitiaz Ali and others and captioned it,” Losers’ backfie with the

Honorable PM! #ImtiazAli @karanjohar #Dineshvijjan”, the PM replied jovially. PM Modi who is quite spontaneous with his replies, wrote,

“Not losers but Rockstars!

No selfie Jab We Met but there will always be another occasion. :)”.

GenX stars like Shahid Kapoor along with wife Mira was also seen and so was Sushant Singh Rajput. It was a surprise to see Shahid as he never openly supported the party unlike others.Hera Pheri actor Paresh Rawal who has been an out-and-out Bharatiya Janata Party supporter, wrote on Twitter, “Today is a very auspicious and a glorious day as our beloved PM Shri @narendramodi ji is taking oath for the second term. This makes it the biggest happiest n most blessed gift on my Birthday today.”

South superstar Rajinikanth was seen with his wife at the event. Others present were singer Kailash Kher and producers Boney Kapoor and Siddharth Roy Kapur.

While Bollywood stars like Swara Bhaskar, Anurag Kashyap and Siddharth speak openly against the government, most Bollywood big names were however present yesterday or at least got an invite. Though political opinion is quintessentially individual, one cannot help but notice the huge turnout of Bollywood celebs Narendra Modi took oath to become the Prime Minister of the country consecutively for the second time.
