In 2019, a young student from Delhi University stunned everyone by securing a ₹32 LPA placement—one of the highest packages that year. While many would consider this the ultimate achievement, Prafful Garg made an unexpected decision. Within just a few months, he walked away from the corporate world to pursue a larger goal: helping students become truly employable.
Early Life and Background

Prafful Garg was born around 1998 in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, into a modest middle-class family. Growing up in a cramped space has shown him what it feels like to struggle financially. These experiences helped fuel his ambition.
One major goal he aspired to at a young age was to make life better for his family. He didn’t have very much growing up, but some of the values he developed through hard work, discipline, and perseverance were instilled in him from a young age.
Education and First Change
Prafful started off school as an average student who preferred doing things outside the classroom (like dancing) as opposed to studying. One of his teachers saw his potential and pushed him to achieve more than he thought he could.
He went from being known as a back-of-the-class student to one of the top-performing students. He did very well on his board exams, receiving a perfect 100 in Accountancy (which received national attention).
Later, he joined Delhi University, where he began his entrepreneurial journey.
College Hustle and His Last Project

Within a few weeks of starting at university, Prafful started his first venture, called BookMyPG (which he started because it was difficult for him to find accommodation). Prafful grew this business while continuing with his studies and learned a lot about running a business very quickly.
During this time, Prafful also worked with student media outlets and groups, developing strong communication and leadership abilities that were pivotal in his future success.
The Major Career Shift
Prafful landed a corporate position soon after graduation with a high salary. However, through his experience during the interview process, he saw a huge void — there were very talented applicants who demonstrated no confidence, no communication skills, and limited exposure to the work world.
This experience prompted him to leave the job after four months, and instead of continuing to pursue financial stability, he chose to address a major issue occurring in the educational system of India.
Younity was founded by Prafful in 2020 as an ed-tech platform that develops both the personal and professional skills of students. His methodology was focused on hands-on, experiential education, such as building resumes, communicating, and understanding career options.
His greatest differentiating factor was consistency. He became widely known throughout the Indian educational community for the consistently held “9 PM session” in which he would provide live mentoring to students for hundreds of days in a row. He cultivated a vast, thriving community of learners across the country of India.
Digital Journalism and Content Creation

Prafful’s entrepreneurial ventures led him to explore digital journalism through the “Mission India” initiative, which intends to make complex national and International problems simple to the younger generation, combining education and awareness.
Through social media platforms, he has gained millions of followers and significant engagement, making him a prominent voice among Gen Z audiences.
Achievements and Recognition
Prafful’s work has earned him several recognitions, including the prestigious REX-Karmaveer Award, associated with global change-makers. He has also been invited to speak at reputed institutions like IIMs and IITs.
Challenges and Public Perception
Like many public figures, Prafful’s journey hasn’t been without criticism. His bold opinions and strong communication style have sparked debates online. However, he continues to focus on his mission of empowering youth and bridging the employability gap.
