Satyavathi Chauhan, popularly known by her stage name Mangli, is an Indian playback singer, television presenter, and actress. Known for her colorful Banjara clothes, Mangli has gained popularity with her soulful renditions of Telangana folk songs. She has become a familiar face at almost all the festivals in India, as well as abroad. She performed during Bathukamma, Bonalu, Sankranthi, and Telangana Formation Day.
Early Life
Born into a Banjara family, Mangli was always enthusiastic about music. She took a diploma in Carnatic music from SV University, and her father had triggered the bloom of her singing talent. Initially, she was motivated by her teachers to pursue a career as a music teacher. Mangli settled in Hyderabad and later in Bengaluru to start an anchoring career. She has a younger sister, Indravathi Chauhan who became famous after singing the chartbuster song "Oo Antava" of the film Pushpa: The Rise. Mangli sang the Kannada version of the same song .
Mangli began her career way back in 2013. She was invited as a guest artist for a special show V6 News was hosting in honor of Dasara festival. She was also the host of a satirical news show Teenmaar Vaarthalu alongside Bithiri Sathi, and hosts one for HMTV's show Jordar News. Mangli's songs for Telangana festivals are widely appreciated, such as "Orugallu Kotanadugu", and songs in movies like Sapthagiri Express, Raj Mahal, and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
She had actually achieved a lot of success with the most popular song "Saranga Dariya" from the 2021 released movie Love Story. Mangli has featured on a number of television shows including Maharani hosted by Lakshmi Manchu in 2018.
