Shreya Ghoshal was born on March 12, 1984, in Murshidabad, West Bengal. As of 2024, she was 40 years old. Bishwajit Ghoshal is an electrical engineer, and mother Sarmistha Ghoshal is a homemaker. She also belongs to a family which, as said earlier, has a musical background.
She began with singing when she was hardly four years old. When Shreya was six, she formally trained in classica music. It was the first feather in her cap when she went on to emerge as the winner of the first edition of the popular singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma (now Sa Re Ga Ma Pa) way back in the year 2000, which served as an entry pass into Bollywood.
