Shubhankar Mishra isn’t just another face on TV—he’s a name people actually know in Indian journalism. What really makes him memorable is that bold way he speaks and the guts he brings every time he tackles a new topic. He’s set himself apart in a field packed with competitors, thanks to years with top news channels and a serious digital presence that takes his profile up a notch.
He was born on April 10, 1993, in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. By 2026, he’ll turn 33. He went to St. Xavier’s School and later studied Mechanical Engineering at Galgotias University. The real story, though? Even while he was knee-deep in engineering, journalism kept calling to him. The pull was too strong—he made the switch and never looked back.

Family means a lot to Shubhankar. His dad, Harihar Mishra, and his mom, Anupam Mishra—who’s a headteacher—stood by him from the start. His brother Saurabh’s all about music and loves playing the flute. Still, Shubhankar doesn’t put his family life on full display. He’ll share a moment or two, but mostly, he keeps things private.
He kicked off his journalism career in 2015 with India News, presenting at the regional level. After that, he moved through Zee News and TV9 Bharatvarsh, picking up hands-on experience wherever he went. But things really changed in February 2022, when he landed at Aaj Tak. Then he began to anchor the bigger stories, and people started to really notice him.
Shubhankar left Aaj Tak in July 2023 and started independent journalism. He went full YouTube and Instagram, posting interviews, breaking down news,s and reaching out to people from all walks of life. He joined NDTV as a consulting editor in June 2025 but quit in March 2026 to concentrate fully on his own digital content.
Outside work, he loves to travel, snap photos, listen to music, play cricket, and—no surprise—talk journalism. He likes chatting with his audience on social media, too. When it comes to his personal life, he keeps it all under wraps. He’s unmarried and doesn’t talk about relationships.
Over the years, Shubhankar’s become a real fixture in Hindi journalism. He shifted from old-school TV to running his own digital channels, and that’s helped him get closer to younger audiences and try out fresh ways of telling stories.
If you look at where he started—in engineering—and where he is now, it’s clear: following your passion pays off. With sharp communication skills and a growing online community, Shubhankarhass carved out his own space in India’s changing media world.
