This filmmaker was the golden boy of Bollywood in the late 90's after two of his movies turned out to be blockbusters. He later effortlessly transitioned into a studio boss. He sold a significant stake in his company for an astronomical sum to an industrialist. But he is going through the toughest phase in his career as a filmmaker & as a studio boss. His box office standing has taken a huge hit. Most of the movies bankrolled by his studio were rejected by the audience & were fodder for the trolls. His own movies too haven't been really setting the box office on fire. As per a source, the filmmaker is coming to terms with the changing audience tastes. He has realized that the romance-comedy movies which made his studio a force to reckon with, don't make the big bucks anymore. Action movies replete with whistle worthy dialogues & nationalistic fervor - two areas where he & his studio are lacking. He has been indecisive when it comes to closing the script for his next movie. He had finalized one script, but stars whom he thought were his loyalists refused to work with him. His buddies from the 90's who played a big role in shaping his career in the 90's aren't keen on working with him either. He is not confident when it comes to greenlighting scripts for his studio & has hired a trade analyst cum movie reviewer to help him tide over this crisis.
In his biography the studio boss hinted at his mentor's jealousy over the stupendous success of him & his studio. While his mentor has time & again reinvented the box office formula to stay afloat, this filmmaker hasn't really been able to do so. His over reliance & penchant for casting star kids has led to a lot of negative PR against him. He is routinely bashed on social media for his unfair treatment towards outsiders & or lesser stars. A video which shows him ignoring an actress whose filmmaker husband delivered Bollywood's biggest hit has been making the rounds. His loyalists have deserted him for more bankable filmmakers. Many are rejoicing over his current downturn.
