In 2015, during her peak stage of career, Mumaith Khan suffered a severe head injury and went into a coma for 15 days. During a recent interview with Ali in a show "Fun with Ali", Mumaith Khan explained the real reason behind her injury.

She said it was in the last week of 2015 when she went for a two day vacation to Goa. "After I returned from Goa, the next day I took my shower and as I came out of the bathroom I saw myself in the mirror. Suddenly, I recalled ‘Mere Khwabon mein jo aaye’ song from DDLJ where Kajol dances with a towel on her. Even I tried the parody, but unfortunately I slipped and my head hit the sharp edge of my square bed".

She further said, "I really don't remember what happened the next moment. I went into a coma for a period of 15days, and after I woke up I thought I slipped yesterday and woke up today". 
"five of my brain nerves were busted, and I had to go through an operation. Right now, I'm having nine titanium wires in my brain" After the operation is done, the doctors said I need to take a rest for 2 years, and there were also chances for me to get depression. But due to strong will power I came back strongly.
Talking about her entry into cinema, Mumtaith recalled, she worked as a background dancer at a very young age to carry out a living and support her family and her first payment was 750Rs. Later on, she got a break through Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.
