The ICC World Cup was a treat for the batters because of the batting-friendly surface in Indian conditions. Seven players managed to score 500+ runs in the tournament, and six batters crossed the 400 runs mark. On the other side, there were some big players who could not live up to expectations and remained totally flops throughout the entire tournament.

Even though he started the tournament with two magnificent half centuries, he could not find a way to score runs in the other matches. He ended the contest with 276 runs while averaging just over 30, which is quite disappointing for the classy player. His bad form was the main reason behind England’s bad run in the tournament, according to some cricket experts.
Jos Buttler
The England skipper is another big player on our list who was quite with the bat in the 2023 World Cup. His numbers in the contest were horrible, as he was just averaging 15 while scoring 138 runs without a century or fifty. He looked completely ordinary at the mega event. The Kiwi team was on top of their form in the mega event; every player was playing his part nicely. The only player who disappointed the team was their standard skipper, Tom Latham. He was expected to be one of the top scorers of the ICC World Cup 2023 because of his experience and records in Indian conditions, but he could only score 155 runs at an average of 25.83; he only scored one half century, and in the entire tournament he failed with the bat.
