Hulchul (transl. Commotion) is a 2004 Indian Bollywood romantic action comedy drama movie directed by Priyadarshan. The film is a recreation of the 1991 Malayalam film Godfather. The movie stars Akshaye Khanna, Kareena Kapoor, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Amrish Puri, Paresh Rawal, Arbaaz Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Farha Naaz, and Laxmi.


Angar Chand has a wealthy lifestyle in a small Indian town with his wife and four sons. Out of the four, the eldest son Balram falls for Dhamini, who reciprocates his feelings. Although her mother Laxmi opposes this, Angar wants their marriage. Dhamini's dad Sanjeev in rage accidentally kills Angar's wife Parvati. Dhamini is then forcefully married off to Kashinath Pathak. Infuriated, Angar kills Sanjeev and is jailed for 14 years.

Hungama (transl. Ruckus) is a 2003 Indian Hindi-language comedy movie directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Venus Records & Tapes. The movie stars Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal, Aftab Shivdasani and Rimi Sen, whilst Shakti Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Tiku Talsania and Shoma Anand play supporting characters. It is a remake of Priyadarshan's own 1984 Malayalam film Poochakkoru Mookkuthi which itself was based on the 1980 Telugu film Gopal Rao Gari Ammayi. It was also reported to have been enthused by the plot elements of Charles Dickens's play The Strange Gentleman.
Anjali Patekar arrives in Mumbai looking for employment. She finds inexpensive lodging by feigning marriage to a stranger, Nandu Apte, a would-be musician. Jitendra "Jeetu" Sahai has just began his own electronics business. His friend Anil Singh pretends to be a millionaire businessman Radhe Shyam Tiwari's son and conspires with his servant Pandu to trick Kachra Seth into a quick commitment with his daughter Madhuri. At the same time, Radhe Shyam Tiwari, who lives in a village with his wife Anjali Tiwari moves to the town. With news of Radhe's onset, Pandu asks Anil to run away.


3. Bhool Bhulaiyaa


Bhool Bhulaiyaa (transl. Labyrinth) is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language comedy horror movie directed by none other than Priyadarshan and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the T-Series Films banner. A recreation of the 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, adapted by Neeraj Vora and Manisha Korde, it stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Asrani and Vikram Gokhale. The movie score and soundtrack were composed by Ranjit Barot and Pritam respectively, with lyrics written by Sameer and Sayeed Quadri.


Made on a budget of around ₹25–32 crores, Bhool Bhulaiyaa earned ₹82.8 crores worldwide, thus becoming the 6th eighth-highest grossing Hindi movie of 2007. It received encouraging reviews from critics upon release, with commend for its direction, screenplay, humor and soundtrack, with meticulous praise directed towards Balan's performance.


4. Golmaal: Fun Unlimited


Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (transl. Chaos: Fun Unlimited) is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language comedy movie directed by Rohit Shetty, written by Neeraj Vora, and produced by Dhilin Mehta under Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Limited and Parag Sanghvi under K Sera Sera Pvt Ltd, with MoserBaer as distributor. The first installment of the Golmaal movie series, it stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi and Tusshar Kapoor along with Rimi Sen and Paresh Rawal. Golmaal was released on the 14th of  July 2006.


The movie is based on Mihir Bhuta's Gujarati play Aflatoon which was based on Harsh Shivsharan's Marathi play Ghar Ghar which had previously been adapted into the 2001 Malayalam movie Kakkakuyil. The opening comedy sequences were later on used in the Kannada film Mast Maja Maadi (2008). Upon release, the movie received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics, with Joshi being singled out for honor. The movie was commercially successful, grossing ₹467.2 million universally against a budget of ₹150 million.


5. Garam Masala


Garam Masala (transl. 'Hot spices') is a 2005 Bollywood comedy film written and directed by Priyadarshan, featuring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Paresh Rawal, Rimi Sen, Neha Dhupia and Rajpal Yadav. It was released around Diwali in 2005. Kumar received the Best Actor in a Comic Role award for his act at the Filmfare Awards. Over time, the movie has gained a cult following and has been considered as one of the best Hindi films in the comic genre. It is a remake of Priyadarshan's own 1985 film Boeing Boeing which itself was a recreation of 1965 film of the same name which in turn was based on the 1960 French play of the same name. Kumar and Abraham's restaurant scene with Dhupia was adapted from another of Priyadarshan's own Malayalam movies, Aram + Aram = Kinnaram.
