Aarya Sareen is definitely not going to win mother of the year. And every new episode of Aarya's third season makes her justification for entering the criminal trade—that is, to protect her kids—look ever less plausible. She's having fun somewhere between evading gunfire and barreling through police roadblocks.
In the concluding scenes of Season Three Part One, Aarya has her hands full with all three. Sooraj, who admits he's "no longer a good man," kidnaps Maya and demands Aarya show him where they buried his late wife. Sooraj is entitled to his vengeance, his morals tainted by unbearable anguish. However, the cool and calculated manner in which he murdered Roop and her unborn child, then subsequently skewered Maya's hand, makes it difficult to sympathise with his character. Meanwhile, Aarya's hasty departure to save her best friend highlights the gentler side she's tried to suppress — the one in which she still weeps with sadness over her son's dead girlfriend.
The wrong place, wrong time Inspector Khan learns about her rescue attempt and follows her, but Aarya's horde of faithful henchmen takes care of that specific issue. In case you're wondering, he's still alive. But the same cannot be said about Sooraj, whom Aarya did not intend to kill. The two were close to reaching an agreement; after all, why should the children face the brunt of their mistakes? The guns were finally put away after a long time. But then a half-crazed Veer appears from the bushes, ready to blow Sooraj's brains out for murdering Roop, his life's love. And, once again, Aarya is forced to shoot a guy in the chest in order to protect her family.
But the harm has been done with the aforementioned family. Veer despises his mother for failing to save Roop as promised, and according to previews for Part 2, Aaru will turn on her for shooting her love interest, Dhruv, who turns out to be Khan's informant in a complicated series of events. To some extent, these claims are justified. She does prioritise the business over their happiness, despite her insistence that she is doing so for them. In any case, she shouldn't be expecting the world's best mom coffee mug this year. Adi is happily too young to join in on the fun, but Aarya's main concern right now is something far more serious than facing her children's wrath. She has a week to recover the stolen shipment of Rs 1000 crores for the Russians, or Nalini Sahiba will come after them all.
Something must have happened in the interim, because the first scene of Part One shows Aarya being shot in front of her family. Will she make it? How will she safeguard her children against Nailini and the Russians? And, above all, where is Daulat when you need him? All of this and more will be revealed in Season Three Part Two, which will be released early next year.
Aarya's third season will be available in two parts. Disney + Hotstar is presently offering Part One for streaming.
