Asur was developed by Ding Entertainment and Viacom 18 Studios. The story of the web series was written by Gaurav Shukla, Niren Bhatt, Abhijeet Khuman, and Pranay Patwardhan.
It was directed by Oni Sen. There were a total of eight episodes in the web series Asur season 1. In season, we expect the same.It was released on 2nd March 2020. The next season, Asur season 2, will be released somewhere in 2021. There is no official update of the release date of Asur season 2, but we expect that it will soon be released.

The new season features the old ensemble cast, which includes Barun, Arshad Warsi, Ridhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka, and Sharib Hashmi, along with some new faces. The cast and crew have resumed shooting and will soon wrap up the first schedule of the shoot.
Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti have begun shooting the much-anticipated psychological thriller Asur 2. The two actors played lead roles in the first season of the Voot Select .

 The second season of Asur is touted to be yet another captivating tale, which will leave the viewers intrigued and on the edge of their seats.
Opening up on Asur 2, Arshad Warsi revealed, “In Jan (January 2021) I'll start shooting for Bachchan Pandey. Jan, Fab, March, I'll finish that. By March end, I'll start shooting for Asur season 2. So, March, April, May, June, it should be over. By the end of the year, I think it should be out. It's a very nice script, I've heard the second season, it's outstanding...outstanding. It's really hard to top it (season one), but, yeah...that's what is surprising. It's very hard to do better than what we had done, the first season was so interesting — to up that, I was very worried about it, but when I heard the second season, I said, 'Oh, very good.' Again, it has the same aspect of unpredictability, you'll never know...what you think and what will happen is completely different...it's very interesting.” 
Barun Sobti, who will reprise his role as Nikhil Nair, is excited for Asur 2. "Yes, we are back with a high-octane second season and are working extremely hard, as we know the mammoth importance of following up a hit season with a better one. We understand that the audience is anticipating a great show and the whole team is mentally and physically aligned to the goal. Honestly, I’m excited to work on the show but even more excited to see how we fare," added Barun.

The shoot of Asur 2 is going on in full swing in Delhi. Soon they will wrap up the first schedule and begin the second schedule of the shoot. The web series will be shot in Varanasi, Manali and Delhi.
The next season, Asur season 2, will be more surprising compared to season 1. Season 1 was consists of serial killings. We do not know the exact plot of the Asur season 2, but we expect that the good and bad will be continued, and it will be more thrilling than season 1.
Maybe in season 2, we will see that the CBI team is about to catch the serial killers team because, at the ending of Asur season 1, we have seen that there is not a single killer, but there is a team of it.
So, the CBI team will have to catch the team as soon as possible. We expect that the plot will be amazing and eye-catching.
