Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is directed by the legendary director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The series received two nominations at the esteemed Busan Film Festival 2024, demonstrating the film's enormous commercial success. The limited series is up for two awards at the 29th Busan International Film Festival (Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards 2024): Best OTT Original and Best Original Song for "Sakal Ban.”

 

Heeramandi became the only Indian film to be nominated in two categories at the film festival, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has even more reason to celebrate. The Asia Contents Awards and the Global OTT Awards 2024 is scheduled to take place on October 6, 2024, in the Busan Theatre of the Busan Cinema Centre in South Korea, according to reports. Following up on the success of Hansali Mehta's scoop last year, Netflix has received 23 nominations for the Busan Film Festival thanks to Heeramandi's amazing achievement.

 

For those who are unaware, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is a moving story of courtesans who ruled like queens in Lahore during the pre-independence era. In addition to Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah, Jason Shah, Jayati Bhatia, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, and Sonakshi Sinha in the ensemble cast, the show's lead actors include Manisha Koirala, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Aditi Roy Hydari, Richa Chaddha, and Sharmin Segal. Sanjay Leela Bhansali made his OTT directing debut with the show, which was supported by Bhansali Productions. The soundtrack was also composed by the indie filmmaker, giving the plot more emotional depth and enhancing the overall pleasant experience. Netflix offers streaming access to the limited series.
