Lucky Ali has one of the most melodious voices in Bollywood, from his singles to movie tracks he has ruled it all. While Lucky Ali’s singing journey is known to almost all, his love life has been just as interesting. There are some amusing facts about his love life that will leave you stunned.
Lucky Ali’s songs are famous all over the globe, but not many know that the amazing singer is the son of famous comedian Mehmood Ali, who was seen in movies like ‘Bombay To Goa’, ‘Padosan’, ‘Kunwara Baap’ and other movies. Lucky Ali’s real name is Maqsood Ali but his pet name Lucky took off. He has a list of odd jobs before he ruled the charts. He has been a carpet-cleaner, oil-rigger, horse-breeder to an organic farmer.
Lucky Ali had married thrice in his life and he had made it clear that his wives will not be in the dark about him not being a ‘one-woman man’. He was apparently on the belief that given the religion that he follows, he is allowed to have up to four marriages. But, he was also of the opinion that his partners give consent for the same without hurting anyone.
In an earlier, interview with Mumbai Mirror, he had said, “Some are suited for one marriage. I don’t think I am suited for one marriage. I move around a lot. I am a free spirit. I get lonely. I cannot cheat. What happens when you are faced with temptations? It’s better to marry. Be honest to your wife and love your wives.”
His father, Mehmood Ali had warned his second wife about his particular habit, Lucky had revealed, “He [Mehmood] said to her [second wife Inaya], be careful. He might just take a third wife.”
You might remember a gorgeous diva in blue in his superhit son, ‘O Sanam’ – that is his first wife, Meaghan Jane McCleary. She hailed from New Zealand, and she met Lucky when she came to work in Delhi. Talking about the same, Lucky recalled, “My brother says ‘hi’ to everyone. Soon he got talking to Meaghan. Then I joined them. We began meeting regularly and became friends. She went back to New Zealand. That’s when my brother said, ‘She is a good girl. You should marry her.’ She came to India on a Wednesday, I proposed on a Thursday and we married on a Friday.”
Meghan and Lucky tied the knot in 1996 and they were blessed with two children, a son Ta’awwuz and a beautiful daughter, Tasmia. Lucky was very clear about his intentions when it comes to marriage. He had said in the same interview, “I always knew I’d have more than one wife. In fact I did tell Meaghan about it when we got married. She thought I was joking.”
Later, Lucky met a Parsi girl called Anahita, who goes by the name Inaya. She is a filmmaker and photographer. She lives in Mumbai with Lucky’s other two children Sara and Raiyan. Their relationship grew when Meaghan was away in New Zealand. He said, “I never knew I was going to get married to Inaya. I was spending a lot of time in India. I was lonely and needed to be with someone. It happened over a period of time.” And talking about Meaghan’s reaction to Lucky’s marriage, he said, “Like a martyr. It’s such a hard hit for a woman. Inaya spoke to Meaghan. And she said, ‘Go with Allah’s steps’. I have learnt so many things about life from my wives.”
Well, that was not enough as cupid hit again. Lucky struck a chord with former Miss England, Kate Elizabeth Hallam. In 2010, the couple tied the knot in a court marriage in Bangalore. Kate also adopted Ali’s religion and changed to Aeisha Ali. In an interview with IANS, Aeisha had said, “I don’t talk about religion. I believe religion divides and faith unites.” They were blessed with a lovely son Dani in 2011.
