Neena Gupta Shares The Reason Behind On Playing The Role Of 'Dadi Ma' In Lust Stories 2

Lust Stories 2's trailer was released a few days ago. Four short films directed by R Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma, Amit Ravindernath Sharma, and Sujoy Ghosh are included in the anthology film. R Balki's short Lust Stories 2 stars Neena Gupta, Angad Bedi, and Mrunal Thakur. Neena Gupta plays dadi maa, and we got a taste of her harsh nature in the teaser, when she is shown offering counsel to Angad and Mrunal. "Ek chhoti si gaadi lene se pehle test drive karte ho na, so shaadi se pehle no test drive?" she is heard saying.In a recent interview, Neena Gupta discussed why she chose to play a 'dadi maa' on screen and how she believes her character has created a dialogue about sex.

In an interview with Indian Express, Neena Gupta was asked why she opted to play dadi ma in Lust Stories 2. "Because if it wasn't dadi maa saying what I'm saying, it wouldn't have any impact," she said. That is why it was essential for a dadi maa to express the things that we did in the film." She went on to say that initiating a talk about sex is critical for young people. She then related her own experience, saying that she had little to no knowledge of sex until college. Neena Gupta claimed that she had never seen her parents sleep in a separate bedroom till she was 12 or 13 years old. "We had no idea what sex was. My mother never explained to me what sex is or what periods are. My mother used to be so rigid that she would not even let me go to see a movie with my girlfriends when I was in college."
She also stated that until she was in college, she believed that kissing might cause women to become pregnant. "Previously, the girl was provided some information before she married. They were told what would happen on the first night so she wouldn't be afraid or the male wouldn't flee."However, even back then, women were told that it was their job to give birth and that they needed to fulfil their 'duty' when their husband asked for sex," Neena Gupta added. She went on to say that this still happens today and that things haven't changed all that much. That is why she believes Lust Stories 2 is significant, and that her role has sparked a significant discussion.
On June 29, 2023, Netflix will release Lust Stories 2.
