'Tumbbad' director's Prime Video series 'Gulkanda Tales' Know More About It

'Tumbbad' filmmaker Rahi Anil Barve's web series 'Gulkanda Tales' has hit the major block after production. The makers are trying to salvage the show with re-edits to save the show from getting canceled. The series stars Kumal Kemmu, Pankaj Tripathi, Patralekha and others. 

The show has gone through multiple edits as the stakeholders were not on the same page about the final material. There have been a lot of rumors about the show getting canceled and the reason Prime Videos could do so would be because there are a lot of re-shoots. 

Talking about the story, it is a bit scattered, and it jumps too much, which makes it a bit off track as it goes from one episode to another. The makers did a lot of editing which reduced the shape of the show. To fix this, they would have to re-shoot certain portions which would require them to get the dates of all the actors together and build the sets again, which wasn't possible. Such things can't be fixed over edits and this has led the show into limbo. 

The makers are trying hard to shape it with edits that demand minimal re-shoots. This will lead to sacrificing an entire sub-plot. It's a logistical problem where re-shoots will require more money, and they won't be getting additional budget from Prime Videos. It is difficult to get it all together now. 

The series is either a fictional kingdom or else a period sex comedy which involves feminism and misogyny. It is a pure piece of fiction with no real incident, so there is no question about sensitivity. Do you think the makers will be able to tackle all the problems and bring the show live? Well, we hope they do as the cast seems interesting and powerful.
