Untold Facts About Salman Khan & Aishwarya Rai's Love Story

The Bollywood movie industry is a small realm of its own. In this close-knit community, news of relationships, heartbreak and unfortunate endings quickly become the talk of the town. Among the many high-profile relationships in Bollywood, the one between Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai is thought of as both one of the most passionate and one of the nastiest of all time.

From their sizzling chemistry in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam to the long-lasting disputes that followed their split, Salman and Aishwarya's romance is still one of the most debated topics in the film world.

It is said that Salman and Aishwarya's romance began while filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil Chuke Sanam. In the movie, Aishwarya portrayed the role of Salman's romantic interest and it was the first time their connection was evident.

Following the success of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan were reunited for Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam. She became a part of the Khan family, developing a strong bond with his sisters Arpita and Alvira. Although the Khan family was delighted with the relationship, Aishwarya's family was vocal about their disapproval.

One evening in November of 2001, the actor arrived at Aishwarya's residence in an outraged state and began pounding on the door with great force. Those who saw the entire episode later reported to the press how Salman kept hitting the door of her flat on the 17th floor for hours and even warned to throw himself off the top of Gorakh Hill Tower if Aishwarya refused to let him in. 

The drama went on until the early hours of the morning, and eventually Aish opened the door for Salman. Reports stated that Salman's fists were injured from pounding the door. It was said that he wanted a commitment of marriage from Aish, but she was not keen to wed at the time.

In a conversation with The Time of India in 2002, Salman acknowledged the occurrence of the incident. He expressed "The incident did happen, albeit it was exaggerated by the media. I am in a relationship with Aishwarya. If there is no argument in a relationship, it implies that you do not love each other. Why would I argue with someone who is unfamiliar to me? These things happen between us only because of our love. Now, the police have even forbidden me from entering that building."

At the 2002 Filmfare event, Aishwarya showed up with a broken arm and sunglasses, furthering speculation of Salman attacking her violently. Reports had been circulating that during the filming of 'Kuch Naa Kaho', Salman had gone on a rampage and even damaged her car.

In 2002, Aishwarya Rai publicly announced that her relationship with Salman Khan had ended due to his inability to accept the situation. However, the entertainment industry was already familiar with the outbursts of rage that Salman was prone to. It is said that he went to the set of Chalte Chalte and attempted to take Aishwarya with him. He also confronted Shahrukh Khan, believing that the two were having an affair. Reportedly, Salman grabbed hold of Shahrukh's collar and pushed him.

Aishwarya Rai opened up about her and Salman Khan's tumultuous relationship for the first time in September 2002, nine months after their split. She described how he would call her and insult her, as well as make accusations of her having affairs with her co-stars. She also detailed incidents of physical abuse, but luckily without any visible signs. Despite this, she still went to work as if nothing had happened. Furthermore, she explained how he would injure himself when she refused to take his calls.

In a statement to the media, Aishwarya declared that she will not collaborate with Mr. Salman Khan for the sake of her own emotional health and the dignity of her family. She regards the time she spent with him as an unpleasant experience and is thankful that it is over. Despite the proverb 'Never say Never', Aishwarya made a strong commitment that she will not work with him again.
