Vicky Kaushal’s Role Extended In Takht

Vicky Kaushal kick started his career with a phenomenon of a movie called Masaan in 2015. Not only was the movie well appreciated in India, with Vicky taking home the best debutante award at multiple award shows, the movie moved the audience in the international sphere. It was screened at Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival and won two awards.
A few not so successful films later, Vicky featured opposite Alia Bhatt in the 2018 spy thriller Raazi as Iqbal. And boy, all women in the country were swooned by his charm. The Pakistani Army Official, Iqbal suddenly became the ultimate dream husband material! Raazi garnered huge praise as a movie and Vicky's performance was applauded besides Alia's stunning portrayal of Sehmat. Later that year, Vicky starred in yet another very successful film-Sanju. He effortlessly pulled off the role of Malli, Sanju's best friend and truth to be told, he managed to grab more attention than Ranbir, who by the way,did a phenomenal job,whenever the two shared the frame. Sanju went on to be the highest earning film in 2018. Kapoor and Kaushal bagged almost all awards this award season-while Kapoor went home with the Best Actor trophies, Kaushal happily grabbed the Best Supporting Actor awards. Till now, Vicky was mostly seen in multi-starrer movies or as supporting actor roles and none with him standing alone in the forefront with the exception of Zubaan in 2015 which was a disaster. Uri:The Surgical Strike gave Vicky the opportunity to actually shoulder a film. The movie which released earlier this year was highly appreciated and loved. Audience loved Vicky's Major Vihaan Singh Shergill and the movie ran successfully to housefull theatres. And whenever Vicky Kaushal shouted “How's The Josh?”, the audience across theatres enthusiastically shouted back, “High, Sir!” Vicky's performance as loved by the masses. This immense success of Uri has now helped Vicky to have an extended role in multi starrer period drama Takht. Directed by Karan Johar, in this magnum opus, Vicky would be seen essaying the role of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, while Ranveer Singh, who brilliantly portrayed Alauddin Khilji in last year's Padmavat, will transition into the skin of Shah Jahan's another son, Dara Shikoh. Karan Johar is said to have been rewriting Vicky's part to be equal to Ranveer's part after the success of Uri. Vicky, who has grabbed the role of the Mughal Emperor, will indeed have the meatier role. The film will also feature Jhanvi Kapoor, Alia Bhatt,Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Kareena Kapoor Khan,with Bhatt romancing Vicky. The movie will go on floors this August and is slated to release sometime next year. Apart from Takht, Vicky will also be seen in Udham Singh as well as an untitled horror film.
