Childhood and Parenting
Born and raised in Mumbai, Ashika was initially brought up by her mother Omana Surve and she has a brother Athang and a sister Niyati. During childhood, Ashika was interested in sports, especially in acrobatics which she practiced at school. Her passion for Mallakhamb, a sport which has its roots in Indian culture, is as instance, which comprises gymnastics and aerial yoga. Being supported by her family, Ashika continued practising this ancient form of art with the help of which she won several gold medals at the state as well as the national level.
